Review: Everybody Gets Angry

Not a very educational children's book. Doesn't really teach kids anything; there's nothing to take away from it. Anger and happiness are two emotions that don't necessarily correspond.

What the hell? I expected that this book would at least reference in elementary manner that it's okay to be mad, but not okay to lash out. All this book did was say "every one gets mad and then everyone gets happy." I was really disappointed because I was hoping to have something to share with my nephew to assist in working on his behavior when he gets mad.

Everybody Gets Angry by Noah Lukeman
Cute children's colorful story of the times a child gets angry because they can't get what they want.
Very clear easy to read the words in black on a bright background of the page.
Also for every time the child gets angry, happy things occur also. Love the page showing all the angry times and then the collage showing all the happy times.
Other books by the author are highlighted at the end.

Lacking

There are much better books out there on the subject for children. This book lacks problem-solving skills and ways for the person who's angry to handle that emotion.

Basically teaches children that it's okay to get angry and stay that way until you are given something to placate you. Which, as we all know, is a lovely life lesson for people to learn. The book has a nice concept (teaching children that anger is an emotion that everyone feels) unfortunately it offers a poor solution which is hard to overlook...
