This is by far one of the best children's books that I've ever read! I originally got it for my cousins, but I got hooked myself. I found it very hard to resist the allure of the characters. What's more, there was a lot of information regarding animals which I definitely appreciate. The matching bracelets and collar tags of Francie and Scrimmy, and the deeper meaning behind them is a beautiful symbol. The start was very funny, with the dog making a big entrance to run off with a ball during a big match. 'Caniner 49er' is stuck in my head, even now. Francie's teacher is very inspiring. How I wish all teachers were like that...
I also liked the fact that the author promoted adoption.
The only problem with the book is that now my cousins are harassing my dogs to teach them to how play with a ball like Scrimmy could!
