i enjoyed the premise of the book and the spice was very good. the tension between the two at the beginning and the badass fmc was great. the plot was good but i felt like the last 20-30% of the book fell flat. it just felt like a repeat of everything from the rest of the book and the side plot had no wrap up, it was obviously going to continue in to the next book, but because that is going to be told from different characters’ perspectives i an worried that it won’t hold the same weight as the meaning of the side plot was so strong for saff, so it just feels her side of it is unfinished (even though i’m sure she’s in the next one as a side character i’m just not sure how it will play out.) there were a few other odd plot holes like
the not being able to call each other saff or lock when on the mission but they used their full legal names saffron and lachlan? really weak reasoning there. also the stuff webster told saff about there being so much more to everything, when that is revealed, will it not be most significant to hear from saff’s perspective as she was the most involved as it was her being manipulated and then her parents dying?
overall though i enjoyed it and will be reading the next one.
