Friends to lovers in a workplace setting, this cozy romance had a lot of cute moments and surprised me with the spice.

Tropes:
Friends to lovers
Opposites attract
Work together
Forced proximity
Big family
Chinese rep
Filipino rep
Dual POV

This book had a good pace and didn't drag the romance for too long. Cadence and Matt had great chemistry and banter. They were both ambitious and supported each other in their career goals. The only thing I didn't like was the secrecy and miscommunication. But with how things ended up, I was satisfied in the end.

The spice surprised me... I don't know why I expected a fade to black, but this had some juicy moments. So overall, this was a cozy and quick story. I listened to the audiobook and really enjoyed both narrators. Highly recommend for fans of workplace romances and big family dynamics.

Trigger/Content warnings:
Death of parent, grief, miscommunication, sexual content

This is a light, easy contemporary romance. It wasn't amazing, and I've docked another star because the two main characters read as incredibly immature, especially when they're around each other—they're supposed to be in their early 30s, but they behave like teenagers, inexplicably! I only kept listening because I love Natalie Naudus.

A cute, fun romance with all the right elements... that didn’t come together in quite the perfect way. I think my biggest issue with the book was Matt — mainly because the audiobook narrator made him seem sooo annoying, but also because his character was fairly flat? He didn’t really have any flaws, looking back, he was just a goofy guy in love with his coworker — and not afraid to act like a high schooler to show that love. Cadence, on the other hand, was a strong, interesting character I could definitely relate to. The family elements were also well done, and I loved learning about both (very different) families and how that impacted both characters. Overall, I liked this romance fine enough, but it didn’t blow me out of the water.
