I liked this book better than the first because it had a lot more happening and the story moved faster, and I was really entretained and really enjoyed reading it, but I really didn't like the end.

In my opinion, the big twist wasn't that surprising, I did think on multiple ocasions that it could be her but it doesn't really make sense the way that she would have so many questions when it was her all along.

Also, this is just personal preference, but I'm sad there wasn't a happy ending.

Clover went missing during the Samhain party, and her room was thrashed. Audrey and Ivy know something must have happened to Clover, so they call the police and alert the headmistress, Mrs Abbott, about what is happening. The police seemed dismissive that something serious had happened to Clover but confirmed they would investigate it. Ivy and Audrey decide that they must carry on playing detectives for any justice to be served. Will Ivy and Audrey find out what has happened? Or will they also find themselves in danger?

This book continues where the first one, [b:One for Sorrow|50999508|One for Sorrow (The Magpie Society, #1)|Zoe Sugg|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1598358086l/50999508._SY75_.jpg|75846448], left off. I didn't enjoy this book as much as the first one, and the more I read, the more far-fetched it seemed. At the start of the book, very little happens, and by the end, you're bombarded by twists. The second half was by far better than the first, but only because it was faster-paced with all of the action happening.

Wow, Ivy is one weird character. I suspected she was up to something since sometime during the first book, but I don't think I was prepared for how deceptive and manipulative she was. I hated how every chapter of hers was
Spoilernothing but lies.
It ruined the story a bit. I understand she was trying to make herself seem innocent, but it seemed pointless and just filler.
SpoilerI find it hard to believe, though, that a 17-year-old girl could mastermind the deception of a detective and a police force, no matter how determined she was.

Audrey’s chapters were, in my opinion, far better than Ivy’s. I felt she was slightly more realistic.
SpoilerI know what happens to Audrey at the end is implied, but part of me wishes it had been confirmed.

Overall, I was hoping for a better conclusion than what was given.

I think I might have grown out of the writing style, it just felt the story wasn’t as carefully thought out and refined, and it could have done with some fine tune editing. Also I can’t tell who I’m supposed to be rooting for, the story gets lost in its own mystery.

Juoni etenee koukuttavasti, joten kirja tuli ahmaistua kerralla. Juonenkäänteet yllättivät. Olisi ehkä kaivannut ensimmäisen osan uudelleen lukua, jotta olisi noussut viiteen tähteen.
