I'm a bit conflicted with this one I really liked the characters and had interesting parts, however it didn't have to be 700 pages and got boring a lot of the time.

This book went in a waaaay different direction than I had anticipated. I enjoyed it, for the most part. Just need a minute to process the insanity of the second half.

It was too drawn out. It should’ve & could’ve ended way earlier than it did. And there was quite a bit of repetition. Also, I’m a little confused on some things…. it had the potential to be such an amazing book. But it was decent, and I think he’s a good writer overall.

there is a lot I could say about this book but the main thing I will say is, before reading, be aware that this book takes a HEAVILY religious Christian perspective. that is really not my thing whatsoever. so the fact I was nearly at the end of the book, then finally being hit directly in the face with it in a not at all subtle way, was very very frustrating. the writing and world building was stunning and enthralling. however, the end really really ruined it for me. still could possibly recommend but eh

The first half of the story really intrigued me. Then the story started going in circles (some of it part of the story, but most of it just confusing.) I couldn't understand what role Christopher was playing until the last couple chapters (although it said God but the changed, as did multiple other characters.) It felt like too much information too fast by the end.
