I'm sure there are a bunch of kids out there who are just going to love this but personally I found it tedious. I may have been able to get more than 1/4 through without abandoning it if at least the voices alternated but the unrelenting dogs-eye-view did my head in. One of the few books I've abandoned this year.

Look. This is a kids’ book mine had to read and I need it on record I sat through this book. It did have me thinking about how I train and look at my dog for a split second, but this was a super boring book. I’m sure it’s good for many, but no thanks. Mine won’t be continuing in the series.

I read this book to a class of kindergarteners, and they loved it!

Cute story idea, but very very repetitive.

This was cute. It was nice to see a book written from the perspective of a pet and Coe manages a voice that sounds fairly what I imagine a dog might sound like if he could speak English.

I'd recommend for dog-lovers and people who enjoy optomistic and slightly naive main characters.

Very cute story from a precocious puppy's point of view. This is the first animal POV that seems pretty authentic... I like how the reader has to infer the action and dialogue despite Fenway's misguided perception. I laughed out loud many times! Simple story but lots of discussion is possible. Would be a great read aloud for grades 2-5!
