Tournament of Losers is a fun and captivating read for anyone interested in a lighthearted, rather fast paced (and at times predictable) story about two people overcoming their own prejudices to come together, while simultaneously describing the life of a person in poverty and their struggles (wich may seem a bit too serious of a description).

I found Rath to be a refreshingly simple and kind main character and enjoyed his personality most and Tress is also a fun male lead- his introduction definitely surprised me.

If I’d have to critique something I’d probably address the unnecessary grammar mistakes and the lack of a proper fleshed out ending- I desperately want to get to know the royal family (Tresses siblings were mentioned multiple times) and Rath adapting to his new role as Tresses husband.

sweet & sexy with some violence but like also at least 70% of the novel takes place "off screen" and you only hear about it after the fact kind of like the novel is highlights or spark notes of another novel

A quick read that was like the fairy tale I wish I’d had growing up. The chapters tend to time skip from challenge to challenge in the tournament and a lot of world building and character development kind of suffered a little for it, but I can’t fault the book for doing the job I’d been hoping it would do, which was get me out of the reading slump my last read had put me into.

I could have easily devoured this book in one sitting if I’d had the energy to focus, but I’m glad I didn’t because I would have been disappointed to have it over so soon.

My only question is:
What was the engagement present? Rath decides not to open it until it becomes a sure thing but then we never see what was inside!
