Loved this. A gorgeous story of a noble, a commoner, and a challenge.

A perfect fairytale.

Even though it was very predictable and kind of ended abruptly (I wanted more and was shocked to find that I finished it) I still enjoyed this a lot and couldn't put it down.

An amazing story no matter how many times you've already read it. Definitely is cheesy, but in the best of ways.

4.5-5 stars

this was such a fun read, i loved it all, but this was a fade to black story which was fine but i would have liked a little something something ;) haha

i do also wish this was longer, but from page one i was hooked!

can't wait to read more of Megan Derr's backlist! Also Michael Stellman did a great job with the narrations!

This is one of the first m/m romance novels I ever read! These days I probably wouldn't give it five stars, but it's still a cute, happy story that I like to revisit. Maybe reading a book three times is the equivalent of five stars anyway :)

Rath is living his life the best he can. Only a crime lord thinks he's responsible for his father's debts and needs to pay them off sooner rather than later. His friend presents an idea: Compete in the Tournament of Losers, where the winner gets married into the noble and royal houses, and competitors are given enough funds to live on for the duration of the tournament. With these funds, Rath can pay off his father's debts.

This story was so predictable yet so good. Rath is such a strong-hearted individual, yet he is self-loathing at times. You can't help but root for him to succeed. What I like about this is that Mrs. Derr wasn't relying on sex to tell the story. It was all plot, and I loved it. I would have liked to have seen what was happening off the page; I'm not talking about the sex. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys reading drama and fairy tales.
