This was suprisingly good. I thought from the reviews it might just be okay but I was on the edge of my seat the whole time.

One of the only books I DNF in the past year or so. The main character was incredibly unlikable. Her best friend was murdered, but her internal monologue only revolved around her.

Survive The Night | Riley Sager
This Thriller is a fast read. Charlie is a student at Olyphant University wanting to escape the pain she is suffering with the loss of her best friend Maddy’s murder. Charlie meets Josh at the ride board seemingly headed in a close enough same place. When they decide to ride together, Charlie starts to question her safety and her mind. Since her parents died in a car accident she no longer drives. Charlie’s mind escapes into a movie like trance particularly in stressful situations.
Josh and Charlie stop for coffee at a gas station when Charlie sees Josh’s drivers license says Jake. Something starts to feel very wrong. In the middle of night on this drive will Charlie survive the night, will Josh?
I enjoy the way Riley Sager writes. I find all the novels I have read so far to be fast paced soft thrillers. Some parts are predictable, where other parts threw me off a bit. If you are looking for an easy fast paced thriller make this your next read.

I usually love stuff by this author but this one was all over the place for me. The ending was pretty predictable too.

Ughh I really liked it until the ending…. The motivation behind what happened makes NO sense. WHAT

I liked this a lot. It was a bit messy but it really kept me hooked. There were so many twists and turns. I liked Charlie a lot as well.

Mentally ill chick can’t trust herself to know if creepy dude driving her across the state is serial killer creepy or not. Predictable ending. I enjoyed other Riley books but this was a struggle. Nothing even really happens until over half way through.

Okay. Hear me out. So I’m a couple minutes into this book and I’m like “giiiiiiiirl you just met this dude, like why would you get in the car with him!?
But then I’m like “self. you take Uber and Lyft”
And then my self said “yeah but like they do background checks right?”
And now I’m over here thinking…do they do background checks into these drivers!?
This book was real close to getting 3.75 starts but…I should have known!! That they would throw a twist in there and that I would love the book. It was a twist I should have seen coming but I’m glad I didn’t because it made the reading experience better. Whoever you think the killer is…is usually not because it’s too obvious! Or is it in fact that person because the author is betting on readers to think it’s not the most obvious choice!?!?
