The book wasn’t it for me
The characters seemed sweet but they felt pretty superficial to me
also the whole story/book itself felt pretty rushed and I sometimes didn’t really understood what was going on
Sorry to every fan of this book but like said wasn’t it for me and I won’t read the other books

- Cheerleader/Goth girl💄🔪
- Romance lesbienne
- Zombies
- Enemies to Lovers
- Opposite attract

P.S.: J’ai aussi beaucoup apprécié ce petit Crossover/Easter egg avec l’autre livre de l’auteure, Zombabe. Hâte de lire celui-là aussi.😇🧟

This book was not as gory as the content warning led us to believe!

Babylove was a fun and dark little introduction to the Zombabe universe; however, the story would have been better if it had been more fleshed out. It felt like quite a bit of the story was missing and skipped over, and the ritual seemed to have happened and ended out of nowhere.

Nonetheless, I look forward to reading the rest of the books in the Zombabe universe.

Babylove by [a:I.S. Belle|22999214|I.S. Belle|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1675153365p2/22999214.jpg] is a dark sapphic romance novella that was equal parts dark, thrilling and fun to read. The story involves two very opposite high school teenage girls who becoming unlikely allies and discover more about each other than they realized.

Goth girl Frankie agrees to help cheerleader Ivy deal with her resurrected cat Babylove in exchange for Ivy tutoring Frankie so that she can avoid summer school. Ivy, however, is preparing for something much bigger and tries to convince Frankie to help, until they both realize how terrifying what they are dealing with is and how much more is at stake. They also realize that they may not be as different from each other as they had thought.

Babylove is a prequel to the novel [b:Zombabe|63249290|Zombabe|I.S. Belle|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1670260241l/63249290._SY75_.jpg|99038178] by the same author and is set in the same small town of Bulldeen, and introduces the readers to the mystery surrounding the creepy and sinister history of the town. I loved the early 2000s setting and the empathetic way in which she explores the angst of queer teenagerhood in that period. I also really enjoyed the spooky and whimsical world that the author has created. One doesn't need to read Babylove before reading Zombabe, but it definitely made me more curious about Zombabe and led me to reading and enjoying it a lot.

No rating because I can’t appropriately rate a book from a genre that I despise (horror).
I went into this expecting a low-key horror, which I guess it is, but I just ended up grossed out and unhappy. There was lesbian rep, so that was kind of nice, but I really didn’t care about their relationship.

CW: blood/gore; animal death; violence; bullying; smoking/marijuana
