Never have I been so desperate to find a pencil and to re-read words so immediately; to make notes, underline phrases, pose questions. There are love letters for her home, subsequent despairing odes to the same place. Simple page long prose and sprawling time travelling rhyme. It is filled with adoration of Blackness, of herself, of her loved ones, of those she sees on the street and those she sees in her mind. A completely intoxicating book of poetry unlike any I've read before. A privilege to know.
Minor: Slavery
