Omfg. Shepard is so NOT afraid to kill off her characters, unlike the tv series. Dude.

This book is definitely a step up from the prior two. The first two definitely have mystery and intrigue but this one has you sitting at the edge of your seat. There are many plot twists and cliff hangers that leave you anxiously anticipating what comes next. You just can't help but rip open the next book as soon as you finish this one. Wonderful job.

It was pretty good. There were a lot of twists and turns as with all of the books in the series.

kind of kills the mood whenever someone says 'I know who did it!' with 13 more books to go. but whatever, I totally have nothing better to do. Nothing. At. All.

So... random thoughts: Lucas is so cute in the books, less desperate and more funny. I liked the series one too but the books have a cooler version. (I'm still watching season 2 and I have no idea what will happen next so here's hoping Lucas isn't evil.)

Aria's family is the worst, who would abandon their daughter like that? She isn't perfect at all but I felt sorry for her. Still not okay with this whole teacher-dating-his-minor-student thing and I really hate it being acceptable in the books. I'm really sad about Sean, he was nice -not with Hanna, mind you- and he didn't deserve what happened to him.

Emily's parts were so weird. It's not something I'm even remotely familiar with, being middle eastern and all, so I had no idea what she should've expected or if the reactions she got were appropriate. I'm pretty sure correction camps aren't a thing anymore but the book isn't relatively new.

Spencer's life is a train wreck. Her sister is mean to the point I can't sympathies with her even the tiniest bit, and her parents are lunatics. She's not an entirely good person but her life is really uncomfortable.

With all that being said, I'm definitely reading book 4, but still not sure if I'll read the whole thing. I loved The Lying Game but I figured out who the killer was two books into it, here I have no clue what will happen next, and the show is much different so that's not any help. I'm not sure I'm reading for the mystery though. The books are light and exciting but not fulfilling or meaningful at all.
