I believe this book is a great read but some parts of it has put me off.  Maybe I wasn't able to find the connection of the mysterious and emotional nature of the book.Still,it is a great debut novel.

Just not for me. I don't enjoy the way they handle mental illness and suicide.

I'll start by saying that the writing and writing style of this book is really damn good. It's simple, yet poetic. It's not much of a plot driven story, but rather a character driven one. You have to really enjoy contemporary fiction to appreciate this book. I say this because it's a bit slow and predictable at times, but the writing keeps you immersed in the story. The ending disappointed me and also confused me. However, after doing a quick google search of an old "movement" I wasn't familiar with, the ending made more sense, but was still disappointing. The book was honestly pretty good until the ending.
