"Come snuggle into bed,
Rest your weary head,
It's time for your tale of dread."

Grimm & Dread: A Crow's Twist on Classic Tales
The Crow's of Quill and Crow have created an anthology of story retelling's of 12 Grimm Fairy Tales. They have reconstructed the stories and made them even more dark and grim. 8 of the tales I was quite familiar with, so it was very intriguing and entertaining to read the dark twist that has been created from the talented authors. The 3 I was not familiar with were written with precision and were
the most touching and beautiful. I had to look up the originals and I was fascinated that the authors created these amazing tales from the original short form fairy tales.

I am familiar with Quill and Crow publishing and the authors, as I have enjoyed other stories written by them and I have really enjoyed what I have read. I was expecting this to be a captivating read and I was not disappointed. I did not read this all in one sitting, I took my time and pondered on each story before moving forward. I felt it added more of an enrichment to my experience, overall. I really enjoyed every story and I believe anyone familiar with and has a love of Grimm's Fairy Tales will find this to be a very successfully created anthology.

The stories and authors:
1.What The Earth Bore by Mary Rojette (A Sleeping Beauty Retelling)
2.Black As Snow by Zeena Mubarak (A Snow-White Retelling)
3.Where The Shadows Fall by Stephen Black (A Rapunzel Retelling)
4.The Devil's Deal by Ryan Brinson (A Bearskin Retelling)
5.Become A Flute, Become A Spy Glass, Become A Knife by Elou Carroll (A Retelling of The Singing Bone)
6. Godmother Death by Adam M. Faderewski (A Retelling of Grandfather Death)
7.That Which You Have Promised by Sabrina Howard (A Frog Prince Retelling)
8.The Three Wounds by Beatrice Hadwin (A Retelling of The Three Snake Leaves)
9. A Tainted Rose by Brad Acevedo (A Retelling of The Seven Ravens)
10.What's In A Name by J.S. Larmore (A Rumpelstiltskin Retelling)
11.The Wind So Mild by Victoria Audley (A Hansel & Gretel Retelling)
12.The Crow Princess by Lucas Mann ( A Cinderella Retelling)

I received an advance review copy and I am voluntarily writing this review, all thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you so much for your kindness! Truly appreciated!
