Wild Card is a quick, easy to read story set in a bad boy baseball player and a good girl country music star. It is entertaining and I would love to read more of the stories in the series. I felt the conflict was anti-Climatic. I was expecting slightly more drama. Overall it’s a entertaining sports romance! I enjoyed reading it!!

I loved this book so much!
The characters, the plot, the feels…woow I really fell for everything about this book!
First, let’s go back to the beginning…
This book is about Marlowe, a successful country singer who seems to be losing relevancy in her career and the media. And, Hunter, a professional baseball player who the media sees as an immature bad boy.
They have been seeing each other (secretly) on a casual basis for a little while, and after a wild night in Vegas, they get drunk, and end up married.
After waking up and taking the news in, they decide to remain married for a short while, as they feel this would help both of their careers; Marlowe is finally gaining some media relevancy, and Hunter’s image in the media is improving.
If you’ve read any accidental Vegas wedding stories before, you can probably guess what happens next.
I really loved this book. It was well written, the pacing was great and loved the friendship of the characters. And then, the development of their relationship whilst they remained married.
Marlowe did somewhat annoy me at the beginning, because you could clearly see that Hunter loved her. But, she refused to acknowledge that, and seemed to just take advantage of his feelings without a care of how that would hurt him. It seemed like she used her past hurt in her previous relationship as an excuse. And even though what she went through in the past was very serious and extremely heartbreaking, that still wasn’t an excuse for the way she treated Hunter at the beginning. However, by the halfway point, she definitely started to grow on me, and by the end, I really loved her as a character.
All in all, I loved my experience with this book! 5 stars!

A steamy yet causal fling between Hunter and Marlowe turns into a marriage of convenience with Hunter never hiding his true feelings or desires but Marlowe can’t say the same.
I loved how it was Hunter who wanted more from the very beginning and it was Marlowe who had reservations about everything. Both of them have issues they needed to deal with but slowly and together they worked through their respective issues and made their relationship work.

Move over Dylan McCormick because Hunter Blake has officially taken your spot as my favorite Longhorn! Whew yall! Once again I can’t stop thinking about these books! I am completely over the moon with this series and so far each book has gotten even better! Each book brings all the baseball you could ask for and equal amounts of steam and chemistry between the couples! I am OBSESSED!
When I say I fell hard for Hunter Blake, I mean head over heels, blushing alongside with Marlowe, and feeling ALL the butterflies. Tara has a knack for writing swoony heroes that will stay with you and Hunter is definitely going down in the books as one of my all-time favorite book boyfriends...or should I say, husband? I was a little wary that he was going to be a complete playboy after seeing his charm first hand in Stealing Home, but that charm is saved for one woman and he delivers it in bunches in this one! Too bad it’s not that easy with Marlowe. My heart went out to this heroine. She has been through so much and she so desperately wants to open herself up to Hunter. You can see their love for each other splayed out within the pages and it’s beautiful. By the end of this book, my heart was so full of love for these two and I don’t know if I will ever be able to get over them!
I’m only on book two and I have no idea how I’m going to be able to move on from this series! This series is totally a hidden sports romance gem and if you are looking into reading it DO IT! You won’t regret it! It will have you feeling all kinds of emotions and not ever wanting it to end! And Marlowe and Hunter are definitely not a couple you want to miss out on!

Marlow and Hunter wake up married after a wild night in Vegas and suddenly their temporary hook-up relationship is a permanent one.
The very best part of this story was that it is the man in the relationship who wants more, who knows he is in love, and who is ready for commitment. It was so refreshing!! I loved Hunter's wild ways, but sweet heart. And Marlow was a great female lead who showed a lot of power, but also vulnerability. These characters had amazing chemistry paired with heat and also tenderness.
I really liked this book, but there were a few little details that I felt were left open that I wish had been resolved by the end of the story. Not a big deal, but I was wishing for a more fleshed-out ending or an epilogue to tie up loose ends.

Oh, goodness, I LOVED this one!
Marlowe and Hunter's story was even better than I hoped it'd be (from the teensy bit of a hint of it that we got from book one, [b:Stealing Home|47966050|Stealing Home (Dallas Longhorns, #1)|Tara Wyatt|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1567189045l/47966050._SX50_.jpg|73138794]). Honestly, I didn't even read the blurb before picking it up, so you should have heard the it's a drunken Vegas wedding! YESSSSSSSS! squeal I gave when Marlowe woke up the next morning and I realized just before she did what had happened. (I'm pretty sure my son won't forget it. He thought there was something wrong ;) When will he learn that sometimes when mom reads she makes noises?)
Anyway...
I really, really, really liked Marlowe and Hunter. We got to see Hunter in book one, where it was pretty clear that the guy was his own worst enemy, which--yikes--was really hard to watch at times. (Did I want to slap him or hug him? Sometimes both at the same time!) Even though Marlowe had plenty of her own issues, by the time we get to their relationship black moment, it really was all him--realistically him, but definitely him. I kinda felt like I was right there with Marlowe, eating ice cream and drinking wine and attempting to get over the big (gorgeous, darn him!) lug...
I honestly wasn't sure if Ms Wyatt was going to be able to bring these two crazy kids together in the end, but she did and she did it in a way that was both 100% realistic and absolutely perfect for this couple. And along the way she gave us hints at (two?) future books (Abby and Jake for sure, fingers crossed that Javi and Aerin are coming too... :)) that I am going to be so here for--I may not be a baseball fan IRL, but with this series? Bring them on!
Wild Card is the second book in the series, but it would work just fine as a standalone. Do yourself a favor, though, and read both books--you won't be sorry!
