I don't usually go for the non-paranormal books. But I had read one of the BAD in an anthology and enjoyed it. I also enjoyed the first of the series as well. So I'm continuing on with the series and Ms. Kenyon, has not let me down yet.

Phantom in the Night is the third installment of the BAD series, and I gotta say it's improved a lot when you compare it to the previous books. I love Nathan Drake. His is the type of character I can idolize. Not much for Terri though. I don't know, I just don't think she's that badass for BAD. The story line got better too. But one major thing I've noticed is that while the whole plot and flow got better, it just isn't as funny anymore. While I don't like books with TOO MUCH sarcasm, I found it sad to see that is wasn't there in this book all the same. To me, Sherrilyn Kenyon's trademark IS her sarcasm so, it was still a bit bland when you consider her sacrificing her mark. I hope to see more of her dry humor on the next book though.

All in all, Phantom in the Night was a good read.

THIS IS NOT A PARANORMAL ROMANCE.

Tortured ex-militant turned vigilante? check
One bold as hell woman who doesn't take no for an answer and believe's she can hold her own? check
both of them constantly telling each other to back off? check

Overall this was a pretty decent book other than the constant back forth between the two. But it was a good break from paranormal/historical romance as it focuses more on the law enforcement side, combined with the threat of biological warfare.

Nathan Drake is a man on a mission after finding out his brother is killed and he wont stop until the man who murdered his brother is dead. Terri Mitchell is a woman who is also on a mission after her partner was killed on her last operation with the DEA. She now works for BAD and is trying to find out who set her and her partner up while also on her actual official case; Drugs, Bugs and Murder. The two meet and end up working together (in a way) while trying to stop each other since they are on opposite sides of the fence. But of course they find that working together can get the job done quicker (yay teamwork!) even if they don't totally trust each other, but the raunchy sex helps.

This is in no way a humorous romance, its dark gritty and full of injustice.

But it's also about two people with major trust issues finding each other and learning to trust and open up to someone again.

Well, I've tried to get into some of the earlier B.A.D. books, but couldn't, really. I guess adding Dianna Love and a bit of paranormal was all it really needed :-)

Best B.A.D. book of the series so far!

I really enjoyed the character depth in this book. Nathan & Terri are going to make a good team. I really hope Stoner & Carlos get a chance at their own story!

This book definitely had a different feel than her previous books. I think the addition of Diana Love changed the feel a little bit, not in a bad way, just an observation. The story is similar to the first in the series but different at the same time. I enjoyed the dynamic between Nathan and Terri, but I liked Nathan better than Terri. I did not like that this book didn't start out with the other B.A.D characters (from the previous book); I really enjoyed all of them in the last book. Some of them did make appearances but what I really want is the book for Joe and his lady love. This one was pretty good, can't wait to give the next one a try

This book was a fun investigative romance. I enjoy the high stakes plot and the steam. It was so much fun even if it was basically cotton candy of a book.
