Not a bad read, but definitely not his best. A little difficult to conjure up terror via cell phone, but I did enjoy the characters and its commentary on today's plugged-in society.

This book does not get enough attention, it is one of King's best books.

My first ever Stephen King. I really enjoyed reading it. However, I do NOT like the end. My goodness!

THAT ENDING?!?!

I was going to 100% give this book a 5 star rating because it was so good from start to NEAR FINISH but that ending is catastrophic!! I am disheartened and feel as if I was robbed of any type of closure here and just can't believe Stephen King didn't even do the kindness of giving us an epilogue.

Is it possible to enjoy the way a person writes but not the stories they write? This became interesting to me a little over half-way through with thr mutations, but didn't keep my interest. Well written, but not an interesting story to me. Perhaps I'm not a fan of zombie-type apocolypse stories though as I wasn't a fan of the last few I read either.

Leave it to Stephen King to make the ubiquitous cell phone an instrument of death and destruction. :-)

This book is one of the few books which after completing I thought about for days, wondering what did happen to the characters. King does an amazing job of creating this other world where these characters do seem real, as you begin to feel anxious for them when you aren’t reading the book. The book was a journey following wonderful characters, I only wish I was able to have some of my questions answered.

This is the 4th or 5th Stephen King book that I have listened to and I think that listening to them gives me a story that I would have missed if I would have read them. The story itself is wonderful but Stephen King's use of the English language is beautiful. His prose is a story in itself. When I read, I read for the story and I read fast. With most books that is fine but if you do that with a Stephen King book you miss half adventure.

It was freaky to read this while commuting in NYC where everyone constantly has a a phone to their ear or in their hands. Not that I believe in zombies really but sometimes it seems there are people on the morning subway blindly flocking to the message in the phone. Great premise for a novel by one of the best writers of this genre.
