Did struggle with death of a snob mainly because it was a weird mystery to start with and at the beginning I felt ut wasn't gonna go very far until I had read to the very end and found out who it was that really killed the snob that was there on her Christmas holidays with her husband and friends of the woman that owns the place.
From reading in u did have my suspicions on who it was that killed the snob and for once I actually managed to get it right, but I know this won't happen again with another murder mystery.
I do hope there won't be anymore murder for hamish macbeth to do as I feel he does need a longer holiday to spend with either his family priscilla, his dog or all of them as hat would be brilliant for him.
I still recommend this series as it is worth the read and guessing who the killer is and if there will be anymore murders throughout the book.

Good as background for sewing. A gentle diversion.

Review - The characters seem less 3D in the ones not set in Lochdubh, possibly because we don't know them as well. I liked Harriet, and I would have liked to see her return to Lochdubh with Hamish. I don't enjoy the ones not set in Lochdubh as much. However, I do understand that if every mystery was set in Lochdubh it would be completely unrealistic. It was a bit weird that the murder didn't happen until halfway through the novel.

Genre? - Mystery / Crime

Characters? - Hamish Macbeth / Priscilla Halburton-Smythe / Heather Todd / Diarmuid Todd / Inspector Blair / Jimmy Anderson / Jane / Harriet

Setting? - Eileencraig, Lochdubh & Glasgow (Scotland)

Series? - Hamish Macbeth #6

Recommend? - Yes

Rating - 15/20
