As soon as I picked this book up, the world drew me in.

Alright, not exactly but it was intriguing. I just finished the book not an hour ago and my mind is still spining. In a way, I wish it had gone differently but at the same time, I love how it ended.

I will be picking up the second as soon as I can, hopefully it will be just as pleasing as this one was.

Creative enough, I suppose, but I certainly wasn't enthralled by this book about materialistic wealthy teens who also happen to be vampires.

An interesting take on vampires and their origins. The only thing letting the story down is the plethora of brand-names and designer labels liberally written throughout. This display of wealth is important but it was overcooked for me. Otherwise, I enjoyed this tale and remembered most of the important details from my original read.

Does a good job introducing characters, setting, and context; takes a while to develop but I’m not surprised since it’s merely the first book in a 7 book series. Big cliffhanger to get you hooked in. Some unnecessary descriptions took away from the actual storyline, but didn’t prevent me from enjoying the book.

This book is about vampires...no scratch that, this book becomes about vampires after 150 pages! When i first got this book, i noticed that the writer has worked in some fashion magazines, but i didn't mind at all...BUT, when i began reading it...OMFG!!! Whe just HAD to learn what EVERYBODY was wearing, and there were these too big descriptions, and that made the book boring! Aside from that her writing methods are really bad, in my opinion...I give these book 1,5/5 STARS, because some characters were a liiiiitle interesting!

I was not expecting good writing when I picked this up. I was hoping for a dumb vampire book for a fun read. That being said - it was really not good. This author REALLY wanted me to know that she knows about fashion designers. If only she had spent more time rewriting the lame parts and less time coming up with the perfect outfit for a 5 second scene. No climax, just straight into trying to tempt me to buy the sequel. Pass.

This book was weird... is it about vampires? Sort of, but not really. Angels? In a weird way, yeah. Forbidden romance? Yes?

Schuyler, Oliver, Jack, and Mimi weren't characters that I liked, or wanted to read about. Bliss was cute, I suppose. The odd relationship between Jack and Mimi threw me off- even if I understand they are lovers who have been together for centuries, I didn't appreciate that they were twins. Schuyler's relationship with Jack feels a bit forced (haha). I didn't really understand why fallen angels are vampires, or the reincarnation involved. Alas, I needed a vampire book about vampires, and not some new twist on making vampires be anything other than vampires.

It was okay. I felt like Melissa spent more time describing fancy labels clothing and stores then what the actual story was based about. I felt like this book could have done so much more. There was no big climax.
I will read the rest of the series, mainly because I wanna know what happens. But, not that great of a book.
