The good and the bad...
The bad - the actual mystery wasn't that interesting; I thought she could have dived deeper into Bob and his predicament; the beginning felt forced and it took me a good 50 pages to "get into" the story.
The good - these books are all about the characters and they are all here. Reading these books is like drinking hot cocoa on Christmas Eve.

If you've read the previous books in the series then you're going to love this book.
If you haven't read the series this is not the book to start with...go back to the beginning and start there.

I really enjoyed this book. She's not breaking new ground here but I didn't expect her to.

I always enjoy the Booktown mysteries & this was no exception. Charming and packed chock full of gentle humour, a new Lorna Barrett is like a catch up with an old friend...

While I did enjoy this book and characters, it moved really slowly in the middle. I think there was probably an entire 50 pages or so that easily could have been cut from the book and not made a difference. I enjoyed the story and plan to read more of this series but the slow pace in the middle will keep me from searching for them right away.

I’ll go 7 of 10 for overall enjoyment and 4 of 5 for readability. Interesting easy read, but again, just super slow in the middle which made it less enticing than I feel it could have been.

I liked this one well enough though, as others have said, the main character is just so damn unlikable. She looks down on her sister for eating more than one slice of pizza for dinner. She eats the exact same lunch EVERY SINGLE DAY. She's grossed out about how her clothes smell after going through a horder's house, but she sleeps on her sheets without showering after she attends a house fire and notes the next morning how much like smoke she smells. She's uptight about EVERYthing and is, in short, just a horrible judgemental person. Yet, still I read these. I keep thinking she'll get a clue, but not so much.

Also, the police chief? I LOATHE him. And the ex-husband, while not requiring loathing, is definitely stalking Tricia. Hello creeper.

Though, with all that, this was still a pretty enjoyable read. I chalk it up to all the REALLY bad cozy mysteries I've read that THIS one seems good.

The mystery was good. The Peyton Place-y soap opera I could've done without. Not sorry I read it but don't think I'll bother with the rest of the series.

This book was another great installment in this series, Tricia once again earns her title as the Village Jinx when she discovers another body in the village of Stoneham. This time the murder was a bit too close to home for Tricia's sister Angelica, and Tricia decides once again to take matters into her own hands and investigate to find out the truth of what happened. While she is trying to solve the case, Tricia uncovers some secrets in her own family while dealing with the close proximity of her ex partners.
As I've said with all the books in this series, I can't recommend enough for any cozy mystery lover to pick up this series. The second I finished this book I instantly opened the next one in the series because I couldn't wait to see where else life takes the residents of Stoneham.

Okay, while I enjoyed this audiobook, I found that the twist at who was the killer and why was impossible to predict. I didn't like that, as I like trying to figure out whodunit. There's practically no way that any reader can figure this one out until the reveal happened near the end of the book.
I did, however like the characters, and the book itself was well written. The plot was a little to be desired, though, for my liking. I also felt that the reveal on who the killer was and why he/she did it was unrealistic.
Overall I gave this book 3 stars, and I think I'll read more of the series before I decide I come to a decision on whether I enjoy this author's work or not.
Trigger warnings: death of a child (although not on page.)
