I loved this story so much. Max is a Duke after my own heart. He will lay his life on the line for anyone. I loved his kind nature and how sweet he was to Diana. I also loved Diana. She was strong willed but also willing to do what was needed to knock down the walls around his heart.

As the third book in this series Eva Devon has outdone herself. This damaged Duke is so formidable on the outside and so good on the inside. Within the first several pages he not only met a woman in distress - he married her to keep her safe.
Max and Diana start with marriage and come to love each other more and more as they go. They are both strong characters and live not for the parties and gossip of the ton but the security and safety of the poor of London. Their individual strengths do not work against each other but instead enhance all that they do.
Let me warn you - you will not get through this book without some tears (at least I didn't). That only makes the Happily Ever After all the sweeter when it finally comes.
