This book is a classic formulaic romance novel. I was disappointed as this book markets itself as being focused on the relationship between a woman and a stranger puppy she finds and decides to help, when in fact the relationship with the puppy is entirely sidelined by a tropey love-at-first sight romance. In fact, the dog doesn't offer anything major to the plot except as a loveable creature. I had really been looking forward to reading this book as the blurb and cover really emphasise the dog and made no direct mention of a lover which I thought would be refreshingly unique and heartwarming. However, the dog doesn't even make an appearance until a third of the way through the book. Once I resigned myself to reading a pretty standard romance it was enjoyable enough hence why I'm giving it 3 stars. It was pretty predictable and suitably unrealistic. I found the book incredibly slow to start and then the middle chunk was a good medium pace before the last chunk suffered a rather common fate of speeding through the plot to get to the big happy ending. Overall, I'd say if you wanted something lighthearted and quick to read, and with a few lovable pets, this could be an option.
