Awesome, of course. But then I've always loved the online version.

Update 8/1/24: so many Canadian references lol. I learned a lot looking up the people I didn't know. Also, the Macbeth comics were the best.

I started reading this in the school library and I wish I hadn't. Now everybody thinks I'm crazy for literally doubling in laughter and wheezing loudly .

This collection of comics is both hilarious and informative. The comedic spin that Kate Beaton puts on history and classic literature is nothing short of impressive and I often found myself laughing out loud as I read. This is definitely a new favorite that I will surely come back to from time to time.

I liked it. The art isn't great, but its better than I could do. The jokes are pretty good, though none of them were laugh out loud good. I am a bit surprised this gets so many five star reviews. It's good, but a lot of the jokes are obscure. How many people are familiar enough with Shakespeare, Bronte, Austen, Canadian history, and Nancy Drew to get all the jokes?

I did enjoy it, and I learned a few things, so I think its is a much better than average read.

While I agree that there were some comics in here that went over my head (sorry, not current on my Canadian history), there were enough of the other ones that delighted me to give this 3 stars. Favorite: 3 panel comics based on the covers of Nancy Drew books. Any of the literary comics were pretty great. Or the monk making fan-fiction. That one got quite a giggle from me. It was worth reading.
