All over the place. Feels like stream of consciousness. Couldn't get into it.

Confusing but surprisingly wholesome at the end

I kept waiting for the story to start and then it never did, really. Like things started moving, plot-wise, and then we just switch over to a bed time story that took over the ENTIRE book. And then it ended but the book didn't end. It kept going and was like, 'hey, remember this unrelated plot-line? oh, oh! and also so now this is random and doesn't make sense, we're sleeping in haunted houses!'

I honestly lost track of what was going on around then, and looking back, before that, nothing was really going on. We are just literally told this character's entire backstory for a book with odd, unrelated cushion on either end.

Oh and then it just stops? I can't say that this book ended because it just cut off, it was like the publisher lost a chunk at the end and didn't realize it.

hang on...

why can these plant-dolls talk and also what happened when Perdita was in the coma

so many things in this story were never really explained which made this already mediocre (at best) book even worse (in my opinion, of course)

I truly don’t know what I thought about this book. I finished it, which means I liked it enough to not give up on it. But it was so weird, and the characters were interesting but hard to get into. I dont know. There are better reviews of this book so this is mainly me recording my impression rather than writing a helpful review. It got me thinking, and I’m still thinking about it, but that’s all I can definitively say about it.
