I loved this series! I’ve fallen in love with Callum and he is so sweet and heartbreaking. He couldn’t let go of his attraction for Oakley and the tension of chemistry building up was intense.

I’m enjoying the student teacher troupe and this was no exception! And mixed in with a sort of sex club I loved it. I’ve never read anything like this and I can’t wait to continue on.

However, I’m a bit annoyed because I read another first (4th book) and I feel ive now just ruined the second book and feel like I know everything that is going to happen

How to review this book without giving all my secrets away 😂

It has a good storyline with some tropes that I enjoy and there was a storyline that you don’t see much, at least I haven’t, where the man is a victim and trying to move on from his past. (Very brief so there’s no spoilers).

But there were times I didn’t enjoy it so much. One of the downs, which comes from it being an audio book, was one of the voices that the male narrator did for a male character was creepy to me and every time I heard it, I just wanted to turn it off to make it stop.

The epilogue as well made me cringe, which when the majority of a book is smut, why is the epilogue making me cringe, surely that comes near the beginning of a book like this.

Overall, this isn’t mind blowing writing, which isn’t a bad thing, it’s great if you’re wanting something easy and hey, it might help spice up your life 🌶️

I felt like I was reading this book in reverse because my interest peeked and dropped down down down. I started off really liking the characters but as I kept reading I just...stopped. There were so many points where this book could have stopped but it just went on too long throwing unnecessary conflict with the characters.

First, I enjoyed the writing and how realistic it was with the character emotions. The way our H emotions were written surrounding his trauma made him a great multidimensional character. Even our h not immediately forgiving her parents because who would? Nor was it glossed over. It created a realistic set up for the rest of the story. Somehow though this still fell short because the closer these characters got to each other their own individual stories got watered down.

Also the misogynistic undertone of our H not wanting the h to stay at her job, the place he first saw her and had been a member at for 5 years before just didn't sit right with me and then he low-key tried to blame his trauma on his response like no sir that's what we are not gonna do! My biggest issue of all was the terrible communication between the two. I mean you made it this far, risked careers, and built trust with one another but then just stop talking for two weeks and ghost each other? You don't just open trauma wounds and say "well that was fun"

All in all this book kept my interest but it could have done so much more
