“I am the thing in the dark”

This book was everything I didn’t know I needed!
A dark fairytale with a twist.
Beautifully written and very creepy.
I devoured this book and it totally left me wanting more.

Schon wieder vergessen, ein Review zu schreiben. Und jetzt - eine Woche später - kann ich mich kaum mehr an den Inhalt des Buches erinnern. Das spricht wohl nicht unbedingt für das Buch

So, imagine a story that feels like Stranger Things, Florence + The Machine, Alexander McQueen back when he was still around, European folklore all put in a blender... and you get House of Hollow.

I'll admit that if you know a thing or two about folklore, you'll probably guess what's up with the sisters real quick, and that's as much as I can say without spoiling. That being said, the story totally drew me in and was just fascinating in its beautiful horror. Thread with caution if you're sensitive to body horror, but all in all, it's *chef's kiss and good fairy tale horror vibes all around that would make the Grimm brothers proud.

wow wow wow

what a story and an adventure, I was bedazzled by the story and the sisters, the setting is perfect, though as I was born and live in these neighbourhoods I can see the magic and darkness in them.
I loved the undercurrent in everything they do and touch, and how they are linked to everything.
As 1 of 5 sisters I know the inner workings of this kind of intense relations and the Hollow sisters show and explain this to the audience.
The book is creepy and devastating and the story of loss and love.
I loved it

I'm really glad the Barnes and noble gal sweet talked me into getting this one. I haven't finished reading a physical book in such a long time but this one was interesting and paced well enough that it was easy to do

Great book! Just the right amount of disturbing and mystery. For me, it felt like a blend of the movie "Sucker Punch" and "Stranger Things". Highly recommend!
