I have never read a book with this much identity confusion! At one point I wasn’t clear on whether there were two, three, or four distinct people in two bodies. Or three bodies, not really sure on that one either tbh because we were also in a pocket dimension at that point. This is in addition to the one body housing many people's memories but only one person, and the two people who merged into one. 

 

Since it’s labeled as erotica I feel I ought to rate the sex scenes, but my main takeaway was that all but one (iirc) involved blood, so… I wasn't sure what to do with that. That said, it’s also worth mentioning that there are multiple trans characters and this is a universe where that’s normalized, so bonus points for that!

Half the people in this book are trans and it's always a joy to find out who they are! I love the way that Maria threads all of the characters together in the story. The betrayal and heartbreak that happened in this book are unlike some of the other stories she tells in this and her other series, but I feel it fits well.
