2.5 stars. It's only a couple pages long, but it was kind of fun to read. It was whatever. Passable. Ignore-able. Didn't need to be written, but it was nice. This all sounds negative - I enjoyed it, as a short story to pass the time (and add to my reading challenge lol), and it was nice to read about Nalia's (Sinda's) life before her 16th birthday. And it was based around her birthday, so you got to know what she experienced at her birthdays (because in The False Princess, you don't get to see her 16th, it's already passed).

And of course you get a story from Kiernan's perspective, which is a plus. All in all, really, I think I gave it three stars because it was Kiernan's pov and I really liked Kiernan. It was ok, and I liked it, so 2.5 stars.
