Extremely creepy. It read a little more like it was made for a movie than it was a book. Maybe because it was based on someone else's idea? Or because it's now a movie......I don't know. Either way, still really creepy. I liked the little bit of character growth. Ending......excellent, thought unnerving.
This was my Book set in Another Country in my reading challenge.

Surprisingly better than I thought it would be...might have to buy a copy for my collection other than borrowing it from the library

*review written as someone who hasn't read The Woman In Black*
Thoroughly enjoyed The Woman In Black: Angel of Death. Very tense and highly creepy. Plenty of terror, deep descriptions and macabre occurrences to keep my morbid mind happy.

I love being scared and this book did that. The authorised sequel to The Woman In Black and its scared me as much as the original.
Set against a backdrop of the Blitz a group of children and their two teachers are evacuated to Eel March House where they start to experience visits from the Woman in Black.
This book was compulsively readable and freaked me out from start to finish. A very atmospheric read.

You should probably go into this one like I did, knowing absolutely nothing other than the fact that it was the next installment to the Woman in Black by Susan Hill.

Note to self: Do not stay up til midnight reading scary books- you will not thank yourself for it! After reading The Woman in Black I went straight into this kind-of-a-sequel-kind-of-not-a-sequel. I got super confused because I thought it was a film tie-in edition (which it says it is) but the author's note explains that the film ends differently... So I guess I'm gonna have to watch the film (dammit). It's clear from the word 'go' that this doesn't even come close in style to Susan Hill's original novel. This instalment is filled with a lot more creepy ass faces than the first so was more scary. I'm so annoyed that Harry died because he was seemingly the one character that had an effect on Jennet; he got over his fear, he was powerful and she couldn't influence him. Then the house falls down on him. I'd like to see a third and final book which gets rid of old pasty-face for definite.
