Short and sweet. Evelyn sees something she shouldn’t and ends up kidnapped. She’s had a difficult times over a few years due to a past trauma. She ends up with her revenge in the end. The MMF romance is steamy and fast burn. I would have liked it to be a little longer. It felt a little rushed.

There is an interesting story in there but the characters just didn't keep me engaged. It's a promising and exciting start with Evelyn discovering a dead body in a hotel and watching Cillian flee from the scene, but I felt robbed of who Evelyn really was. Evelyn is a survivor and her story is heartbreaking. However, one minute she's this vulnerable woman and next she's dominant in the bedroom which felt jarring and disjointed distracting me from her authenticity as a character.

Cillian, known as The Boogeyman, is introduced as a menacing mob boss with a terrible upbringing. However, the discovery of his submissive nature came across as unsuited to the credibility of his character.

Enter Christian. Cillian's best friend and his second in command who seems to be added as a filler. His unrequited love for Cillian, concealed for years, takes a significant turn upon Evelyn's arrival and unfortunately, his character's background is almost non-existent.

The whole story is fast-paced with lots of spice and not enough of the captivating plot regarding Cillian's brother. I felt there was a lot I was missing about Cillian's dysfunctional family dynamic.

Thank you to Ms. Reid for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.

This was such a good story. I was so happy that we were getting Cillian's story. If your not familiar with him he's from the Sins of Ophelia series, which you don’t have to have read the series to understand this book, but if you haven't read the series you definitely need to it's so good.
Talk about being in the wrong place in the wrong time that's how Evelyn's feeling about now as she's a witness to a murder, and to make thing's even better she gets kidnapped by the King himself Cillian Nightingale known as the boogeyman. This is a short introduction to Cillian life from his brothers, to his addiction and his best friend Christian who he's secretly had a thing for, but as thing's progress these 3 get closer and boy the sexy times are hot up in here mercy. You just need to read it and find out for yourself. It’s so good.

Oh, I thoroughly enjoyed every second of this.

Mafia stories are my weakness. Our FMC sees something she isn't supposed to and gets kidnapped by Cillian. However, they are both lost and start finding solace in each other. What happens when you can't tell if you're a lover or victim. What happens when another males gets added to the mix. This was amazing written and the perfect pace for a novella. The smut, oh the smut, was very, very well done.

I was beyond excited that we got more from Cillian after everything that has happened in the past, I was hoping he would find what made me whole and he does. When certain events have Cillian out looking for someone who is causing him chaos it leads him to Evelyn and once he sets eyes on her he is pretty much a goner. Cillian is this amazing bad @$$ who runs this city, but he is haunted by his past that won’t go away. I loved this story of how a broken man is so intense and has a tough exterior suffers the way a lot do, internally. Cillian and Christian have known each other for years and have been friends since day one, but Cillian has always hidden his feelings from Christian. The story focuses mostly on the relationship between them and their history has them fighting feelings for so long you just know they belong together, so it was a tad hard for me to believe that Evelyn was just all in and everyone was all in love instantly. The story is hot and has so much to it, but I’m not sure I’m a fan of Evelyn’s just because she was all scared one second looking to run away and hide then for a real small amount of time, she was fierce and all in with the guys. I just loved the history between the guys more because it seemed more realistic that they had these feelings for so long. Overall, this was a quick read and I love the suspense aspect that will have me devouring more of their story, but I honestly could do without Evelyn.
