*There are some trigger warnings to take in consideration before reading this book. *

Not my kind of book but it was free en audible lol
It wasn't that bad, but romance is really not my thing. I feel like the author gave plenty of problems and solved just a few on this book. It felt a little incomplete and, even though each book is centered on a different character, I think the problems will (hopefully) be solved in books to come.

The smut on this book was nice but the relationship between the he main characters felt bland.

*Once again, check trigger warnings before reading*

The main character/narrator was naiive, self-hating, unintelligent, and overall unlikable.

Free listen on audible plus. Again, I like the women’s friendships in this series. This book got a little better in the second half because Gen’s perspective and view of herself got stronger. Plus she was over the “big misunderstanding” about Lewis. This author has a bit of an obsession with men as protectors. I’m not that into it, but I guess it goes along with her seedy side of casinos storyline. Lewis’ toxic attachment to another character was creepy. I’m glad the book dealt with it, but letting something like that go soooooo long and then having it end and tied up so neatly in such a short period of time seems unrealistic.
Might be a 2.5 stars. I’ll have to think about it.

3/10- DNF. Life is far too short & there are far too many amazing books in the world to settle for mediocre books like this one :)

I like Gen but Lewis was really flat. I feel like they barely had any scenes together. I really liked the way they interacted with each other in the scenes they did have together, I just don't feel like enough time was spent actually developing Lewis or their relationship. That coupled with the amount of overlap from the first book (since they run side by side) and an abrupt ending made it feel a lot like a filler novel.
