This book made me feel many things and by the end of it left me feeling numb. I see why Lucinda Berry is talked about so much! I genuinely didn’t like many of the characters, but I still cared to know what happened to them. It’s hard because while I’m a woman I’m not a parent nor do I plan to be one. I can’t even imagine the grief these women went through nor will I know. So it’s hard to judge, but you’re kind of left there wanting to. So many messed up things happen that you’re kind of just like why? You try to pick apart the reasoning. I will say *no offense to anyone* it was giving the energy of over obsessed boy moms at times. Like kind of incestuous, but that might just be my opinion.

not the semi ridiculous desperate housewives esque murder mystery drama i thought it would be. instead this was a lot more grounded in reality, and a lot more fucking depressing. probably better, then, than what i was expecting. but yeah, i don’t know, this made me really sad.

Tragic, there's mystery of course,  but this is not a thriller,, is just horribly tragic. There were times  I admired each of the lead characters and times I really didn't like them, but honestly, I couldn't get much beyond what they were going through. This is a very compelling story that keeps you turning pages,  but more than anything is completely and horribly tragic.

Another win by Lucinda. I really enjoyed this one. I believe I like her books because they storyline could realistically happen in most instances. I enjoyed the book, but I did get confused at times trying to keep up with three families. I felt like I needed a family tree to keep track. The families were so similar. I did enjoy the pace of the book and it kept my attention. I enjoy Lucinda’s writing style and she doesn’t give a ton of unnecessary details. This book would make an interesting movie where the characters could be viewed and easier to keep track of who’s who. I’d recommend this one to a friend.

This book was very difficult to get through. Major trigger warning for anyone interested in reading. I included all the triggers I could think of but it's possible I forgot some. But that's the author's goal so I can't really fault her. If you think you're mentally prepared for this, I 100% recommend this book. If you aren't, I would tell you to read something else.
