This book was phenomenal. From beginning to end I was hooked. The story was crafted so beautifully and intimately. The integration of real life events in Naija at the time and the characters loves made the story feel even more real.

This book pulled me in from the jump. What a bizarre, tragic, all over tale of this couple from 1985-1993. So much happened to them! It was so messy! Complicated! Moving! The MC's perspective was so raw and sincere and deeply heartbroken, affected by so much trauma and loss at every turn in very different ways. And the way it ends! What a real look at a complicated marriage.

There were some chronology challenges in this book as well as some inconsistencies, but the picture it painted of a world I am unfamiliar with more than made up for this. Captivating. Couldn’t put it down.
