This whole thing felt less like a finished book and more like an idea of a story that someone worked on justttt enough to get it published. There’s no real plot, just a few scenes mushed together. We don’t get the chance to connect with the characters at all, so most of what they do feels unimportant and/or weird and irrational.
The FMC and MMC both need therapists, not a relationship. The FMC is genuinely predatory and attempts to coerce the MMC into kissing and sex two different times, both after the MMC repeatedly says no. The first time, she realizes it wasn’t a great idea so she cries and (intentionally or not) guilt trips him for it. The MMC is downright cruel to the FMC to her face and behind her back several times, and doesn’t do anything in the book to redeem himself. I can’t fathom why the FMC is into him, other than that she’s been obsessed with the idea of him for years.
The FMC not apologizing after the fight at the end was really just the cherry on top. If you like bland, unlovable characters, a few random scene ideas, and unbelievably unrealistic and unnecessary things on every page, then this might be the book for you. Otherwise, hard pass.
One ⭐️ because the audiobook narrator was great!
