If I read romance books expecting realistic relationships, I’d hate every book I ever read. Alas, I read romance to feel all the tingly goodness that comes with it. I’m not sure if this was bringing out the nostalgia of reading and loving The Longest Ride by Nicholas Sparks or what, but I do know I was going absolutely feral for Rhett Eaton. Very enjoyable for me, indeed.

I wanted to try this one out after seeing a lot of popularity for Powerless (the third book in the series). I will say I didn't fully enjoy it, but it was a good story. I felt like something was missing? I can't really explain it but the story left me wanting more. Maybe more depth? I'm not sure. I think I'll definitely continue reading the series and hope it gets better!

"Rhett Eaton will ruin me if I give him the opportunity, and I don't even know what to do with that. I think I might want him to ruin me."

I believe this was my first bull rider book! It had a great start — the banter between Rhett and Summer was great. But then they became friendly so fast; we were promised enemies-to-lovers but they were enemies for what felt like 3 chapters, max (and one-sided enemies at that! He didn’t want a babysitter and she had a childhood crush on him). Things fizzled out by the halfway mark, then picked up again when they finally gave into the tension (their first scene was one for the books!!), and then there was a lot of (unnecessary) drama at the ending. Definitely was not a fan of the third act pseudo-breakup.

Also, the cover is not the best
