418 pages later and we still haven’t figured out ky’s eye color? hello?

tell me why this was actually sooooo boring, i felt like i was reading a page on wikipedia or something. there was so much telling, but no showing. it also felt a little too similar to the giver and divergent.

the only thing keeping this from being just one star was the slightly cool dystopian aspect. and bram. but that’s about it.

very meh. do not recommend.

I had no recollection of my previous read of this book, and I think future me will be equally surprised to see that I have in fact read this. Twice now. Already the details are fading.

A Short Not-Really-A-Review Review....?
Blame me for reading this book. I knew that the genre of this book isn't what i usually read, so blame me.
Wait, scratch that- BLAME THE COVER FOR FORCING ME TO BUY THE BOOK SO IT CAN LOOK PRETTY ON MY SHELF.
It was just too plain and boring for my taste, since, again, it's not the genre that i usually read. (Romance, not Dystopian Fiction. This book is more of like a Romance book than anything else.)
Sorry! It's really my fault.

Matched presents a chilling dystopian world where conformity and control are paramount. Ally Condie's masterful storytelling creates a suffocating atmosphere that mirrors the protagonist's experiences.
Cassia and Ky are remarkable characters who navigate this oppressive society with courage and resilience. Their journey to break free from the societal constraints is both inspiring and heartbreaking.
The novel's exploration of themes such as individuality, choice, and the consequences of conformity is thought-provoking and relevant. Matched is a powerful reminder of the importance of challenging the status quo and embracing our unique identities.
While the pacing may be slow at times, the overall message and character development make the book worthwhile.Matched is a must-read for fans of dystopian fiction and those seeking a thought-provoking and emotionally resonant story.

I, personally, loved book 1. I thought that the storyline was great and immediately loved the love triangle and the characters. However, book 2 was a bit of a disappointment. Its only memorable part was when Cassia discovered what each of the three pills/tablets actually do. Therefore, I was really looking forward to book 3, which was just bad. The plot dried up and it ended in a very unsatisfying way. If I was looking to read this series, I would just read book one and read a summary of the rest of the series. It was a great idea and had potential, but it was poorly executed.

Oh my god, I wish I could give this book more than 5 stars. I started reading it without any expectations, because I felt it would be similar to the "Uglies" series, and I didn't like those books. Matched, however, sucked me in and no matter how hard I tried I couldn't stop reading. It was all I thought about at work, home, before bed, I just wanted to gobble up more of this story. It was so good, it was so good. It had almost an emotional effect on me, I found myself staying sad after reading sad parts and feeling like I was in the story. I wish I didn't have to finish the book because I never wanted it to end. I can't wait for the third book to be released.
