LOVED THIS. Kind of a cross between a Meg Cabot and Christina Lauren. Rom-com in book format.

Ok so learned two things here. 1) I liked Tessa Baileys writing style and will check out her other books but 2) I can NOT deal with clowns. noooooope.

So I ended up DNFing at about 60 percent because as soon as the main character actually dressed as a clown I could not deal. I had some other problems with the story but they were minor compared to me getting icked out by clown makeup lol

The set up was kind of weird too. The characters hook up and then decide to fake date which really took away a lot of tension that the trope has in the first place so I was not motivated to go forward and face my fear of clowns.

Otherwise the writing was fun with a nice sense of humor and banter. So would try again somewhere else with no hidden phobias.

The constant descriptions of how childlike Georgie is compared to how “experienced” Travis is made me so uncomfortable. Knowing this book was going in the smut direction I had to stop reading.

I couldn’t put this book down when I got into it. The two characters were cute. I didn’t believe everything but I did like this for the love story. I knew what was going to happen (like every contemporary romance) but still enjoyed it. It was very steamy!

Uhhh 🔥😳
Cute average contemporary...
I'm not a fan of "babygirl" nickname every 5 minutes...

I enjoyed this a lot more than I expected! This is my second Tessa Bailey book and there is no doubt that she can bring the STEAM, goodness me LOL. This is also one of the few cases where I enjoyed the female MC more than the male MC. Georgie is too cute and being the little sister myself (and by far lol), I totally understand how she feels when her older siblings don't take her as seriously as she would like. I also really loved the club they put together in this book and seeing women empowering women! I already knew I loved the Grump & Sunshine trope but this book also made me realize I might like the Brother's best friend trope too! All in all a fun and fast read.

On the whole a good romance story. An easy read with quick plot, perfect for a holiday book.
The plot and characters were somewhat cliched but that is to be expected and honestly I dont really care.
Some parts were just weird tho (like the mother sending her daughter outside to get sexed up at their family dinner 😳).
STRONG pick-me energy.
Ending was too sudden  but cute i guess.

Decent read but switch off your critical thinking for maximum enjoyment 😌.

Fix Her Up is more than readable, and you’ll probably get caught up in elements of the story, but on so many levels it feels like a book that shouldn’t be written now.
Our main character is Georgie, youngest child of a family well-known in the community. She’s a clown, making her living hosting birthday parties. While she’s good at her job, she feels that nobody in her family really sees her.
She has harboured a crush on local baseball star, Travis, for years and dislikes the fact he’s her brother’s best friend. When he’s injured, Travis tailspins and Georgie takes it upon herself to sort him out.
Both damaged and yet dependent on each other to move on. They fake date, and (of course) are destined to be together. There’s a sexual awakening that feels rather out of place in this day and age. While they bring the best in each other, overall I feel it sends a pretty rubbish message about relationships, self-esteem and ways to manage some of the issues you might face.
