Poignant, hilarious, and hot! This wonderfully written book is my first read from Biest, but it certainly won't be my last. Stein and Holly have each been through their own traumatic experiences and have closed themselves off. Their journey to a HEA is both heart-wrenching and heart-warming. Rhyll Biest weaves a tale with engaging characters and witty dialogue that kept me turning pages.

This was a really intriguing premise. I enjoyed his fortitude and strength. I felt Holly was a bit too melodramatic about previous experiences, dropping emotional IEDs, and then ghosting. I didn’t have much respect for her.

I do understand what it feels to hide parts of one’s body (scaring, emotional damage, etc.), so in that way, I did sympathize.

And I would have appreciated a bit more parsing of the German. The author was obstinate about not explaining certain phrases, so I had to stop to google. Kind of rude when other, clearer phrases were defined rather artfully.

Good romance. I appreciated that the heroine was not a shrinking violet and could stand up for herself, even though her PTSD often made it difficult to stop. I also loved the hero, and how well he understands his lady.

The author's name, though. Really?
