Absolutely loved every second of this book. It's been a while since I have read a lighter book, and this one hit the spot. The characters and side characters are amazing, the one liners, the interactions, they are great, you really get a feels for the characters since this is told in dual pov. Ashley is a brit, that still retains his upbringing, and what is funny is, it's against the stuff he has learned while in the US. It's funny, it's irreverent, and it's a must read.
As always with these books by Sara Ney the characters make you want more, and more, and more. The typical midwest college town, with superb athletics, these characters make you laugh, the make you frustrated, and these two are no different. The characters though, are always endearing, and loveable.

Jock Hard is one of my favourite sports romance series and I was so happy to learn there would be a new book in it.

The beginning of Jock Royal gave me big old-school Sara Ney vibes, we have this new girl, very cute and pretty, and this popular guy, who is not the most attractive at first sight, who meet and the magic happens. I was so ready for a story like The Learning Hours or Jock Road, but this one is unlike any other because at some point there is a serious twist in the story that I absolutely didn't see coming.

I loved Ashley, British accent, rugby player, broody but actually a softie, a bit posh but not too much, the perfect combination. I really liked that Georgia is an athlete too, even if it's not super developed in the book, but she is mostly a very normal girl who likes to chill and bake. They both come from very different worlds but it doesn't bring too much drama into the story.

I really loved the first half of the book, we discover these two amazing characters in quite unique circumstances. The roommate trope always gives us such cute moments and this book was not the exception. The second half is not really as focused on the sports aspect but it brings its fair share of drama.

While this book is quite different from the others in the series, I was so happy to be able to go back to Jock Row and read one more of its stories.

I am a sucker for a sports romance, and when BOTH the hero and heroine are college athletes? My catnip! Although heroine Georgia and hero Ashley didn't exactly have a meet-cute, I adored seeing their relationship and chemistry grow and develop. There was just the right amount of slow-burn and these two were hilariously awkward together. Their banter was on point and perfect. Such a great addition to the Jock Hard series- more please!

So very very happy to revisiting Jock Row. Although I have enjoyed all the books in this series, this one was a pure pleasure to read. All the dynamics that played out in this story with Ashley and Georgia were perfect for reading. Georgia allows herself to be peer-pressured (bullied/hazed) into doing something that she would never do, but having transferred schools in the middle of her senior year, she wants to fit in, she thinks. It backfires in a big way with Ashley, the big man on the rugby team. He's also British, which may I say Sara Ney, thank you, thank you, thank you.

Georgia immediately tries to make it right, and Ashley does make her work for it. From there, the story is simply sublime in the way Ashley and Georgia become friends, roommates, then go to Vegas together. We walk with them through their relationship as it grows. I guess you could call this a slow burn, but it seems so appropriate for these characters. They didn't fall in lust with each other; they fell in love. Their story doesn't have the typical HEA, but it is definitely a HEA in my book for these beautiful characters. Both Georgia and Ashley are two great ones. Thank you, Sara Ney, for letting me spend time in their world. I loved it.

This story was a lot of fun, and I really enjoyed jumping back into the Jock Hard world by Sara Ney. It was fun having a British hero. Now I have to say, the fact that Georgia picked him at first for the dare her new track teammates were making her do as part of a hazing ritual made it hard for me to picture him as anything other than a big lumbering doofus at first. Of course, whenever that got going too much in my brain, I just went and looked at the cover and got a better image in my head to carry on. The back and forth between Georgia and Ashley was perfect though. Not too much, not too silly or out there, but exactly like something that would be real.

Ashley was a surprise in all the ways. He really was a good guy as it says in the blurb above. A really, really good guy. His English background and family were kind of a surprise as well, especially how they reacted when things got crazy in Vegas at the end. But I mean a good surprise, one I won’t spoil for you if you haven’t read yet. And while I couldn’t believe how long it took Georgia to tell her own parents about the oopsy moment, I hate to say it, but I know I’ve hidden large things like that in my own life from my parents at times. No, nothing that major, but big things I was worried about how they would react. In the end, I feel like her parents also surprised me in how they behaved, but I think it was a very healthy way to react, and something maybe my own parents should have done earlier with me.

Now Ashley has a brother, and while he doesn’t really fit into the Jock Hard world, with what happened between him and his girlfriend at the end of this story, I’m kind of hoping the author will give him his own book at some point!

Another fun jocktastic (Is that a word? Should it be?) read from Sara Ney.

I’ve absolutely loved the previous Jock series book and the How to Date a Douchebag series book. And this one ? It’s in the top 3.

I’ve laughed so much.
Ashley and Georgie are cute as can be. Both very witty which I enjoy immensely. And the tension ? Top-notch !

Georgie is a good girl through and through, she struggled with the cruelty she dealt Ash and honestly whiteout the pear pressure she would have never done it. She tries to makes amend even though it’s really uncomfortable, one because Ash isn’t really receptive and two when you’ve been mean and insensitive it’s not easy to own it.
You get attached to Ash right alongside her as she discovers just how nice he is.

Ash is adorable. He’d hate to read it but he is. The proper mixed in with the rough attitude ? Perfect mix !
It honestly made my heart aches when Georgia asked the date because you could feel the rejection and humiliation he felt. (I love when a book makes me feel)
There’s a lot of expectations on Ash upon his return to the motherland, ones he’s ready to deal with but at the same time ones that make him hesitant to go all in when he knows he’s leaving.

I’ll just say, I wasn’t a fan of the end. Kinda felt like I’m missing closure on a few things. For example Georgie’s parents, did they meet Ash ? Are they less closed off about their daughter personal life ? Because damn that’s a set of unsupportive parents.
You’d think she was the one sent to boarding school and not close to her folks. While Ash is clearly loved and supported by his.

All in all, loved it. Can’t wait for another !

I received and ARC

The book was good. I enjoyed the characters.
The banter between them was great. And like most of Sara’s books I knew the cringy parts would be in here. And they were. Lol but really I love those. Cause they seem more like real people.
I read the book in one sitting and the only thing I would change is there are a few jumps in time between the chapters and I would have enjoyed a little more. Like didn’t she tell her friends she would tell them if they kissed? Ummm because that awkward moment of her telling them even a little bit of what happened would have been great. But over all the book was good. And I enjoyed reading it. Just wanted a little bit more.
