Amazing

Finding a long lost brother. Getting a new sub. More kinks with Severin, Minnow and Rodrigo. What doesn't this book have?

So ... this book was a bit better but still HELLA violent and dark and graphic. After the 1st few chapters, I was just over the whole sexual violence thing. Severin was also working my nerves. On the plus side, we got to meet Rodrigo's family and I adore them. Also, his mom! Ummmm... you'll have to read it to find out. Speaking of moms: Severin's birth mom is the devil. Just evil incarnate. Sick, twisted bitch. Ugh!
He does get to meet his brother and that adds a dimension and tension and things come to a head. Severin and Rodrigo get their moment and while I loved to see it, it was NOT what I wanted for him. Just ... not how I pictured things. Again the sexual violence was just such a turn-off. There were quite a few surprises that I did not see coming and those kept things interesting. I won't get too in depth with that because ... spoilers. I will say the ending was a total let down. 100%. I was so very disappointed. I can safely say this author's books aren't for me but if this sounds like your thing, go for it.

The first book in this duet was MFM, but this one is MMF. Severin becomes both Rodrigo and Minnow’s Dominant, with Rodrigo submitting to Severin but being Minnow’s Dominant as well.

As Severin and Minnow navigate their roller coaster of a relationship, Severin’s brother shows up in his life and shakes up everything. Nobody knows what his intentions are, and he’s too unpredictable. In the meantime, Rodrigo finally confronts Severin about his hidden emotions, with Severin admitting that he has felt the same way, and they all become a throuple. That comes with its own highs and lows with Severin unable to juggle all these new emotions. Minnow and Rodrigo have their work cut out for them, but they end up convincing Severin that he’s the glue that keeps them together and that they’re not better off without him.

This book was filled with so many emotions that were amplified because of Severin’s standoffish nature and all the different players that influenced their relationship, but it was such an enjoyable ride. I had no idea how things would pan out at the end, but I was really happy with the ending.

This book wasn't as good as the first one to me, but I still managed to keep falling in love with the characters.

Know Your Limits

Sometimes I read these books and wonder how any of us function. Stories might seem outrageous, but then you read the news and realise that humanity is twisted. Truth is stranger than fiction...? That's the phrase, right?

So, this book continues the story of a feral man, Severin, his submissive, Minnow, and his bestie, Rodrigo. They have a D/s relationship that encompasses their day to day life, not just in the bedroom. It's intense.

There are certain parts of this book that made me ache for them all. Some have childhood trauma, some were abandoned, some live with unrequited love, all feel unworthy. The whole relationship is a new experience for them all and I felt their awkward growing pains. Unsure of their roles. But things pick up and there's a lot of spicy scenes that show maturation in their play.

I do struggle with some of it, though. There's a fine line between accepting punishment and abuse. Sometimes it's hard to know when to use a safe word, especially if you're doing something new and want to push yourself? Sometimes the D in this book seemed untrustworthy and the s was afraid to speak up...not wanting to lose affection, maybe? Maybe I'm over thinking. If anything, we all should know our limits and not feel afraid to speak up or not engage if we can't control our urges and listen.

So, that's my review. I enjoyed this duology. It forced me to face my own uncomfortable truths. Loved this!

Whoa

Crazy insane and intense. Who knew Sev had it in him to actually care. Not me. But everything worked out.

Not as good as the first book but I still enjoyed it very much.
Less editing errors than the 1st book and loaded with very sexy Adult intimate scenes.
But, I feel the author(s) dropped the ball on a few elements that could have added a lot of depth and complexities to the story.

This is definitely a BDSM story, heavy on the SM. Very Heavy on the SM!

It's also a MMF story which, I don't know why, but I love MMF. It always makes me feel like all the main characters are more involved/connected to each other.

Rodrigo actually gets the man. I didn't expect to like the second book nearly as much as I did the first... But be still my beating heart. Severin goes from being a virgin to not only bagging a sweet obedient submissive that makes him a better person while still being that alphamale but ALSO adding in his charming sexy dominant best friend. Rodrigo loving and caring so much about Sev that he will table his dom tendencies and submit is swoon.

Yes, yes, yes. This duology is my absolute favorite Smut.
