I enjoy Peterson's writing and this book gives a lot of insight into why we work the way we do and where that overwork ethis came from. It does not come to a conclusion and as an elder millennial to the feelings in this came too close and I couldn't read it very fast.

Read like a ranting blog post rather than a thoughtful, analytical, researched book. Not recommended.

I liked a few chapters of this very much, but didn't love how the whole book ended up feeling like a prelude to the question of whether or not to have kids in late capitalism.

Not one to write long reviews, but I really enjoyed this book. Petersen puts a “why” behind the endless exhaustion almost all of our generation faces- from the strive to exceed academically, to the addiction of social media, to the trickiness of navigating a rocky job market, to working far past our breaking points, and to the overwhelming challenges becoming a parent in this day and age bring. Though it doesn’t focus on solutions, it was comforting to know that the problems we face are not outliers, they are the result of a late capitalist society that doesn’t value people for simply being people. Highly recommend to all.
