I enjoyed divergent so was hoping to enjoy insurgent just as much. I felt less connected to the characters this go around, lost all connection with Tobias and their relationship. I didn’t feel connected to any of the characters outside Tris. 

There was one part I got teary eyed when talking about guilt and never being the same person before that. I felt I could relate to that kind of sadness. 

She spent a majority of the book traveling from one faction to another without any real impactful events taking place. 

The buildup of this secret was a little anti climatic for me. Will read the next one though!

This was such a different vibe to the first book. 

Again I love the characters and the character arcs were beautifully written. However Tris spent most of the time trying and failing to achieve the same small goals so that was frustrating. 

I always look forward to the cute romantic moments and was disappointed because there wasn’t much focus on that for this book but I guess that was understandable given the circumstances.

There were some mad plot twists though, so very page turning in places because woah was NOT expecting that.

Straight onto Allegiant because that last chapter was crazy.

I don’t love this series at all it’s not my cup of tea I find Tris to be Quite annoying and her and Fours relationship to be very unhealthy. But this is just my opinion I know quite a few people who loved it I just didn’t enjoy it. If your interested I would say take a look because it could lead to something you enjoy.
