I'd like to say that I finished this book in fewer than 24 hours.
Anyway, I still say the plot of Insurgent is pretty darn awesome. The series is just so action-packed it will make you want to keep reading. Tobias and Tris' relationship still bothers me and I think Uriah is a pretty good dude for her. When I really think about it, the whole series has a whole thing revolving around Tobias and Tris and they are just the most bipolar couple ever. First they're mad at each other then they're making out on the verge of sex. It's rather tiresome having to follow the relationship (also the sexual scenes make me uncomfortable). I'm giving this a 4/5 because I found it a bit ridiculous that so many people had to die in this one and the betrayal is just unreasonable. Also the twist at the end didn't really leave me to want to read the next book mostly because I honestly have no idea how it'll tie into the previous two books. I just hope that I won't be disappointed just as I was with Mockingjay in the Hunger Games series because that last book killed the series for me.

Reading Divergent made me feel like a Dauntless badass, I literally could not put the book down. Reading Insurgent reminded me of how miserable my life was and how things are spiraling out of control for me too (though not as bad as Tris has it, ha ha.) Insurgent It just wasn’t… as good. And I can’t believe I am saying that. I’m still excited for it, still excited for #3, still love the series, but I expected more.
Also, I felt like several words were overused in the book. “So, then I did this.” “So, I picked it up.” “So that’s that.” Too many so. The other word that was used excessively was “obviously.” It was very obvious to me that it was overused after the fourth “obviously we can’t have that happen.”
So. Obviously. I don’t want to be mean and spoil everything for those of you who haven’t finished. So. Obviously. There you go.
I am kinda speechless actually!
Favorite quotes:
“You have a nice voice,” I say.
“Tris,” he says, “please be quiet.”
“Excuse me,” I say.
“Give me a moment,” he says without looking up.
“No.”
“I thought Erudite didn’t like nicknames?”
“When a pretty girl calls you by a nickname,” he says, “it is only logical to respond to it.”
“I’ll be your family now,” he says.

Hmm I don’t know how to feel - the characters changed so much in this book?? I just don’t think I got it 100% it could’ve been much better
