A big book that I didn't want to end. I love historical fiction and Kate Quinn does it right!

This book has excellent characters and an excellent plot. It’s just 200 pages too long. It dragged and dragged for me and gave detail on things that bogged the story down - I almost didn’t make it - came very close to losing interest. Predictable, but good. Some content (it’s during a war).

I love all books by Kate Quinn. Her development of strong females whose passions and hobbies shape them is stellar. That said, this was not my favorite by her (Alice Network and Rose Cose were better IMO), but I enjoyed the various characters and how she brought their stories together. Admittedly I had figured out where she was going with the plot early one, so very little was a surprise, but it was still enjoyable to listen to (all 19 hours!!)
