[2.75 Stars] Codename Romeo is my first Lucy Leroux book, and I thought it was just ok. I thought the romance and the plot were underdeveloped, and the book was too short. Overall, it was fast-paced and entertaining but didn't have much substance.

This is an incredibly sweet and compelling story. I felling in love with the characters and especially love the interactions between Ethan and Luna. This is a wonderful story.

I quite enjoyed this one, plenty of suspense included and it was done quite well if I'm honest, i think the romance was a bit rushed and off page, but it wasn't too bad.
Definitely intyinnreading more by the author.

Good story.
Quite sweet.

It's a spin off series and there are references to previous couples who already together so maybe best to read in order of writing to avoid spoilers though no great plot revealed.

Lots of breadcrumbs dropped for future books in series.

No intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine.
Few brief mentions that the Hero had had previous relationships but no detail.
Heroine is running from an ex but she is a virgin. Sigh...

I would have given it 4 starts except for the inner monologue which is a pet peeve of mine.
At first it works at the Hero is alone caring for the heroine and a small toddler so he is talking to himself a bit about the situation but they both do it later and I just hate it.

I liked that the heroine was quite strong and capable in her way.

HEA.

This was both a slow -ish burn and also had the two main characters meeting very early on. They had very good chemistry with a sweet story. I loved the heroine, Juliet. She was lovely and strong and just adored her. Ethan was perfectly heroic and I loved watching him grow into someone other than a self-proclaimed bachelor. He immediately stepped up even though he grumbled a bit. LOL.

I also really enjoyed his partner, Jason. Their back and forth got a few good laughs at me. It has some suspense but it was really just clustered at the end. It could've been more throughout but the author focused on a case Ethan was working on.

I think it was to build up another character and spin-off? Since this is book my first book by her, that was my only complaint. This book, while first in this series is a spin- off from her other series. It can be read as a standalone but can feel a bit overwhelming with all the characters.

All in all, I really enjoyed it.

I'm a sucker for protective violent men with small children AND single parents so it would have taken seriously sub-par writing to make me hate this.

I agreed to do an ARC on this book because of the sexy guy on the cover, I wasn’t disappointed by the content inside. It is a romance but the path to the happy family is not all plain sailing. The cartels of Mexico come into play and FBI cases are also explored. an interesting read which was hard to put down. Have not read any other books in this series but it didn’t matter.
