It was cute, but nothing special. I picked it out on the free list of Quarantine offerings. Again I am not the target market for a book about a 7th grade girls, but I prefer things like The Red Blazer girls that give you more thought that just action.

I have been reading Ally Carter's adult novel - The Blonde Identity - which is an OK book, but made me miss Gallagher Girls...and then I stumbled on this prequel audio book.

It was exactly what I needed.

I loved getting to experience that first sight of Gallagher Academy; the first secret passage found; the first moment of Cammie the Chameleon; first real friendship between Cammie-Liz-Bex.

I'm going to have to bump a Gallagher Girls re-read session to the top of my reading list!

This was a fun prequel to the Gallagher Girls series that gives context on how Cammie meets Liz and Bex. It introduces other characters too and helps to also give more details on the school they are attending. This book was cute and I love all of the supplemental material that the GG series is getting.

I have always been a fan of the Gallagher Girls series so when I heard there was an Audible original prequel to the series I made sure to download it right away. It's short, of course, but it's super cute! It's probably better to have read the series before listening to the prequel because all the character development happens in the series and this novella is so short and it feels like Ally Carter assumed people would already be familiar with the characters. I loved seeing how Cammie and Bex and Liz meet and become friends. And seeing both Cammie and her mom's new beginnings at the Gallagher school. The series is young adult but very much on the younger side of young adult and this novella even more so which is understandable seeing how they are all in 7th grade.

In my opinion, I would pass this up for one of two alternatives; also serials.

Spy School by Stuart Gibbs

Etiquette and Espionage by Gail Carriger

That is all

Read the audiobook and the narrator was irritating as hell. Ugh.
