Great book. Really put in perspective why we often may view prayer, whether consciously or unconsciously, as boring and unable to remain disciplined in it or end of praying the same things over and over. Actually praying the Bible seems both like a crazy new idea and an obvious thing at the same time. Especially since we actually do have it imbedded in prayer already and many of our worship songs are worshipping through the Bible.

It is a short read and is very concise. I have often noted books like this tend to be written twice as long as they need to be with a lot of repitition. But Whitney keeps things on point and to the point. Great read. Highly recommended especially if you find your prayer life to be very difficult to remain consistent.

A wonderful teaching + practice resource. What better way to learn how to pray than from the Creator of prayer Himself through His word.

This was a very helpful book. Praying is a struggle due more to distractions and dullness of thinking rather than desire. The first time I tried praying through a Psalm, I found myself praying for several minutes with little or no distraction and with purpose and structure. I definitely intend to incorporate praying through Scripture into my devotional time.

I was privileged to read an ARC from Netgalley. I highly recommend this for anyone wanting to improve his or her prayer life.

Good reminder and helpful points about praying through the Bible. It made me realize attitudes I didn't realize I had with prayer.

May be a good book for those who don't really read the Bible and want to start, but ultimately can't recommend. There a few parts throughout the book where he says something in passing that reveals a very conservative political view that I don't think is necessarily Christian (or necessarily not). But what should I expect from someone who quotes John Piper in every chapter.
