I just felt like the writing was so excessive for no reason. I did not like how the romance was leading and I was cringing multiple times.

I Unfortunately am dnf’ing this at Chapter 16/53%.
I thought that this book started out with tells of a good time to come. However, there were a few too many issues that made me put this one down:
-Overabundance of contradictions (details regarding the ghost Will, the mentions of Jade’s familiarity with alcohol, Jade’s reactions to the ghost in the beginning, & a few other items that made me flip back a few pages to verify the inconsistency).
-I see that this is tagged as a YA, however the age of Jade(FMC, 17 turning 18)…I would expect her to be a tad more mature. She is quickly approaching 18, yet I struggled with how she was portrayed. At times, she had a much younger/childish response rather than that of a teenager on the cusp of adulthood. For me, Jade in general was quite an annoying character.
- I felt that there was an abundance of over-explaining on descriptions and attributes that were not adding anything crucial to the story.
Overall, I think the concept of this book is a wonderful idea. However, in my opinion, the execution needed some work. And I personally think in time, the Author will be able to strengthen their story telling skills. This was just a miss for me.
