This book was such a ride! This book tells the story of the tragedy that occurs during the reopening of Bonkin's Bonanza. For many of the thrill-seekers and families visiting Bonkin's Bonanza, that day would be their last. And the events that unfolded would go on to become infamously known as The Cotton Candy Massacre. If you are into blood, massacres, clowns, and horrific acts to unfold before your eyes then read this book and prepare for the wild ride!

I am a big fan of evil clowns and creepy carnivals so when I read the summary, I knew I had to pick this beauty up. I am SO GLAD that I did because The Cotton Candy Massacre met and even exceeded my expectations!

The Cotton Candy Massacre begins at Bonkin' Bonanza and a terrifying event that leads to the carnival shutting down. Several years later, Bonkin' Bonanza is opening the doors again to the public. Among the various guests, we have two best friends, Candy and Leigh, who are visiting the carnival to help distract Candy from her recent breakup. We also meet Rocky, the ex-boyfriend, his best friend Cliff, and Cliff's sister Stacey who go to the carnival to try to help Rocky win Candy back. While the day start out okay, things take a dangerous turn as the visitors begin to act strangely and the gore fest begins.

I love how the author is able to create such suspense that keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the novel. I started this book at 3 am and was not able to stop until I finished. Totally worth the lack of sleep!

I really enjoyed the plot and will never be able to look at cotton candy the same way again. It felt like a mash up of Killer Klowns from Outer Space, A Tales from the Crypt episode, and the Creepshow animated film with the zombie circus. It was absolute perfection!!

I really loved the characters because they were all fighters and not afraid to do what it takes to protect and save their friends. Leigh has to be my favorite because she had me rolling with her quick wit and her kickass take no names attitude.

I warn you now, as the book does as well, this book is full of GORE and EVIL CLOWNS so if that is not your thing, I would pass. If you are like me and can't get enough of evil clowns, creepy carnivals, and gore than this is DEFINITELY the book for you!

The writer is clearly trying to capture the essence of watching a fun, low-budget slasher film but, since the writing on those is usually pretty bad, it doesn’t translate well to the written page. Every situation and character so far has been so cartoonish and unbelievable that I keep putting it down just as soon as I pick it back up. The women in this book are written so badly and with so much sexism…and I’ve barely even started the book. I wanted a fun summer slasher but I just don’t think I can get through this one.

This book was very freaking great. It was so gruesome and disturbing but like i couldn’t stop reading. Once it starts getting good you literally stay on the edge of your seat until it’s over. I loved it so much! and the writing style i loved that just as much

The Cotton Candy Massacre was a gore-fest; it made me feel physically sick. And I LOVED IT!

The only reason I could not give this five stars is that there was a bit of a lull when we entered Bonkin's Bonanza Big Blow Out; the story just felt like it was being dragged out with all the "deadly" carnival games.

Nonetheless, The Cotton Candy Massacre did not disappoint with its gore and violence. The writing style felt unique and original; it brought the characters and Bonkin's Bonanza to life, and I felt like I was inside the story living the events with the characters. Once I had finished The Cotton Candy Massacre, I felt empty inside, the sign of a good book!

P.S. Why did Clark, Cliff and Rocky have to die!? And why did Stacey not get saved from being a possessed clown!? Knowing what Rocky's future would have been made his death harder.
